On February 20th, 1991, flight deck crewman John D. Bridges was sucked into the intake of an Grumman A-6E Intruder aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt, Persian Gulf. Incredibly, he survived because he became wedged in the engine. The flames were caused by his equipment being pulled through the jet.
