Convair 880 seen in The Rookies.
The Convair 880 is a four engined jet airliner that was produced by the Convair division of General Dynamics to compete with the Boeing 707 and Douglas DC-8 by being smaller and faster. It was produced between 1959 and 1962, however its cost and fuel consumption was much higher than hoped and the program production never reached General Dynamics aspirations.
A stretched version, the 990 Coronado, was launched to satisfy a request from American Airlines, but only 37 aircraft of this version were built, and overall only 102 880s/990s were produced.
